Melbourne was trying to drag itself out of a long wet soggy spring, and it seemed like summer was months away rather than weeks, but that didn’t stop 22 boats from sailing on Wednesday evening!  Although some other clubs in the bay abandon their racing, our determined RO Nadine Tabak decided to wait and see if the weather would worsen or stabilise for our members to venture out.

Her calculations proved to be on point, and our race started in choppy but manageable conditions and then settled down to provide good, close to home racing, proving that careful course selection can be the answer to whether we race or not.

In the tower was Tristan Ludowyk on boat duty from Hotshot who was a great help.  Thank you also to our ever-reliable Ashley Shoup from Sunshine who helps regularly. We hope other members will join in and help fill in our roster! Did we mention you get a free meal and a drink for helping on a Wednesday evening?

There was another great turnout in the Harbour Room with plenty of warm meals and catch ups among members. Our best start was Sunshine with 2 seconds, and the first winner of the GenOA division was Liberty, congratulations! You can now check out the colourful GenOA Trophy in the Trophy cabinet.
