Membership Benefits

Membership Categories

Membership year is 1 April – 31 March. Memberships are automatically renewed on the 1st of April every year.

Senior Membership at Royal Melbourne Yacht Club


Ideal for:
Boat Owners
Monthly payment: $125

Must be over 18 years of age. All boat owners must be a senior member. Member shall be entitled to all the privileges of the Squadron.
Annual Fee $1,500

Sailing Membership at Royal Melbourne Yacht Club


Ideal for:
Racing Sailors
Monthly payment:
$75

Members shall be entitled to sail in all Squadron events.

Annual Fee $900,00

Sailing Membership at Royal Melbourne Yacht Club


Ideal for:
18 to 35 years of age
Monthly payment:
$31.25

If you are in between the ages of 18 to 35 you can sign up for this membership.
Member has full access to RMYS Facilities.
Annual fee $375.00

training Membership at Royal Melbourne Yacht Club

 

Ideal for: Learning Sailors
Monthly payment:

9 Sailing Courses + Unlimited Club Racing (Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday) + Full access to RMYS Facilities.

Social Membership at Royal Melbourne Yacht Club

 

Ideal for: Social butterflies
Monthly payment:

Must be over 18. With the exception of three Squadron inter club / Twilight races per year, you cannot sail as crew on yachts in a Squadron event.

Ideal for:
Sailing Families
Monthly payment:

The whole family. Comprises of one senior member, one associate member, their children and grandchildren between ages of 6 and 18.
Same rights apply as senior, associate and junior member.

Junior Membership at Royal Melbourne Yacht Club


Ideal for:
6 to 18 years of age
Monthly payment:
$31.25

Must be between the ages of 6 and 18.
Annual fee $375,00

The Membership Process at our Yacht Squadron

All applications (except Junior) must be proposed and seconded by current Senior or Sailing Members, or be accompanied by a written character reference who has known you for more than 5 years.

If you are having difficulty with this requirement, please contact the office on 03 9534 0227.

Prospective members attend a membership meeting, where they will be given information about the club including their rights, responsibilities, and, if applicable, an access key fob. Once prospective members have submitted their completed application and nomination form, the office will let you know the date and time of the next membership meeting.

Please note: Junior and absentee members are not issued with an access fob.
