Weekend training was a little upset by the weather, Saturday team was able to get it, but with the strong wind forecast and the unpleasant sea state and weather, we had to postpone Sunday. Now comes the trick of finding new dates as the school is fully booked on keelboats for March and April.
Training Members take on S80 State Titles: Recap.
Although the results don t show it, we ended up having a great time. A few items on the boats malfunctioned, which meant we had to pull out of races, but the team did a great job, learned a lot and what they achieved was commendable; from a skipper’s point of view, I would be happy to race with them again any time.
The overall plan was to introduce new sailors to regatta racing, learn something and have fun. I feel that we ticked all those boxes.
We are already planning the 2023 event where we will be putting in both of the S80’s, allowing another group of training members the opportunity to experience the thrill of regatta racing. Keep an eye on the training news for dates and information near the end of the year.
