News from the office
Welcome to 2020 and what will no doubt be a great season of sailing. It has already kicked of with a bang with Twilight Series II, an extra 15 boats joining this year compared to 2019. Then we hosted the 80 Victorian Championships over the weekend which went of with out a hitch and was well received by all who attended . (see full report ). There is lots more to come and the office will be flat out for a few weeks so your help and participation is highly welcomed by me. See you all around the club.
TWILIGHT SERIES II help needed: We have the possibility of 20 Rotary members joining us the 22nd to go sailing. This means I will need extra boats to take them out. Can you please confirm if you can help out and how many spots you have. If these and the usual number of Sail Pass arrive we are looking at up to 50 spots needed. A challenge but one I’m sure you can help me with. Please email me to confirm what spots you can provide. racing@rmys.com.au
RULES NIGHT: 16th January 1900 hrs . Ian Humphries is an international jury but lives in Newcastle. He’s down for Sail Melbourne and is planning to help do a rules night for us. All skippers who are or wish to race are requested to attend this please as it is a great refresher for those who always race and highly important for those new to racing. You are also welcome to bring extra crew with you on the night. Please confirm your attendance via the link .Rules Night Registration

The 3rd and final race in the Charles Marshall Trophy was hosted by RYCV in conjunction with their Lord Brassey Trophy. It Provided a more challenging day with Southerly winds gusting 25Knts and a choppy sea. There were many a tired sailor at the end of the day. Again RMYS made up over 65% of the fleet on the day so well done teams.
