Artists impression of the new pier.

The new pier will be constructed to the south of the existing pier, and removal of the existing pier will then follow.  The project is expected to take 2 years.

Marina access is guaranteed for the duration, however there will be changes at various times during construction.  At some stage the timber in front of the kiosk will be replaced, meaning there may be some disruptions and possible changes to how we access the marina for a period.

The “Pond” area (where the traditional boats are moored) will be the staging point for construction.  Barges etc. will be using the Marina Fairway (between the breakwater and the Marina) by the constructors during the rebuild, which will increase traffic in the area.  Vessels need to be extra vigilant when entering and leaving the Marina.

In addition, the vessels that were moored in the Pond, as well as the moorings on the other side of the timber pier (“Kiosk” area) will be relocated for the duration of the build.  Some will be relocated on their existing moorings to other locations, but most will be moored to the Eastern side of the Main Marina Walkway.   The Marina main gate will remain closed to the public for the duration of the build.
