Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron is proud to offer OutThere Sailing, a program designed to introduce 12-17-year-olds to the excitement of sailing and powerboating in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment.

Our sailing programs are run in an array of 1-3 person dinghies and keelboats and are specifically designed to allow young sailors to have fun, make new friends, and learn new skills in an encouraging and safe environment.

What to Expect from OutThere Sailing

Our programs are run in a variety of 1-3 person dinghies and keelboats, giving young sailors the opportunity to:

  • Experience the thrill of sailing while having fun
  • Socialise with friends and make new ones
  • Learn new skills in a safe, supportive environment
  • Develop teamwork skills and build lifelong friendships
  • Enjoy activities with peers their own age

Why Choose OutThere Sailing?

OutThere Sailing is all about combining skill-building with enjoyment. Whether on the water, on the beach, or in the clubhouse, participants experience the camaraderie of the sailing community while being guided by qualified Australian Sailing Instructors.

After completing the program, participants are encouraged to join the RMYS Junior Fleet, where they can continue developing their sailing skills and build confidence on the water.
