Sunday Junior Sailing Debrief from 20 March

Hi All,

Three major challenges first up this morning.

  • Getting to RMYS given we couldn’t access even Pier Road because of the 2XU triathlon.
  • Getting boats across pier road because of the 2XU triathlon.
  • Distinct lack of wind…….again…..ranging from 2 – 7 knots with an occasional 10-knot gust.

Despite the difficulties and some covid isolations we still managed to have all six Quests out on the water so thank you to all that made it to sailing today.

Special mentions

  • Rohan Brownlee’s crew saved a tinnie in distress and towed it to shore.
  • Killara crew multitasking re-purposing it as a mark laying, rescue and fishing vessel. A couple of undersize pinkies and flatties and then finally one decent-sized flatty. Sorry no pics of that one but it was huge……it was about this…………………………………………………long!
  • Presto on the tongs….no burnt snags.

Next week Napier Cup…..when Pat sends out the email to see who can make it please respond to Pat as quickly as possible so we know how many boats we need to ask the club for.

Attached are a few pics.

Cheers
