The Ruth Nangle Trophy Long Distance Geelong Passage is this Saturday 19th and is a non-aggregate race for boats with a minimum safety category 6.
The race start time will be 0900 hrs (time limit 1700 hrs) and is a Tower Pursuit start. Our Race Officer for the day will be David Taylor. Make sure you make your crew declarations. Spinnakers are permitted.

The Olympic Bar will be open from 730 hrs for coffee, rolls, drinks and ice to take on your boats.

At this stage, the forecast shows showers will develop with winds north to northeasterly 15 to 20 knots turning north to northwesterly during the evening.

Our boats will be arriving mid afternoon and berthing at Geelong is available and will be confirmed later this week.
The Finish Line for the Ruth Nangle Trophy will be in the Royal Geelong Yacht Club (RGYC) finishing box on the NW corner of the RGYC marina and the West Cardinal mark about 400m to the NW of the finishing box. William Paterson will go along as our support boat.

The Yot café and bistro have unobstructed views over the RGYC marina and Corio Bay and will be open offering vegetarian and gluten free options. On Sunday the Jeanette Turnbull Trophy (Cat 6) will head back to Melbourne at 0930 hrs (time limit is 1800 hrs) and is Race 1 of the Long Distance series.
The Yot café will be open for breakfast, coffee and supplying lunch.
The weather looks like there will be showers with winds north to northwesterly 13 to 20 knots
The race is a fleet start, and Amanda Wakeham is the Race Officer.
The finish line will be a breakwater finish at St Kilda.
