Division 1: 1st Double Shot 2nd Take One 3rd Mood Indigo

Division 2: 1st Dalliance 2nd Revenge 3rd Siren (provisional subject to protest)

Steve Thompson and Mark Cunningham of Double Shot stayed back for an interview on Wednesday.

The winds were light on a cloudy day last week. It was under 5 knots of wind, but as the race was underway, it picked up nicely out in the bay. “I’ve always been a light wind sailor,” says Steve. “I started when I was 12 and being small and light, never had the weight to do well in heavy weather … you work to your strengths”

Double Shot certainly played to their strengths on Wednesday with a double win in AMS and PHS. “We had a very lucky run where we stayed in a good wind pocket for longer than other people,”

AMS Division 1st Arcadia 2nd How Bizarre 3rd Matador

PHS Division 1st Valastar 2nd Bushido 3rd Arcadia

Arcadia had their sights on winning the final race of the Spring Series, and How Bizarre was the one to beat. We interviewed skipper, PJ after the race.

“It only took us 37 minutes to get around the course, we were a bit worried about the short course that we wouldn’t have enough time to get away from [How Bizarre]”. The early lifting of the asymmetrical spinnaker gave Arcadia that advantage. They kept it up, but it took their competition How Bizarre a bit longer to get it going. “That made all the difference, I think,” said PJ.

We wish all the boats the best of luck ahead of the announcements of the Spring Series results.
