Chris Bower and Tracey Rothwell’s Beneteau Oceanis 40, Dolphin Time, has arrived at RMYS.  Built-in 2007 but launched in 2009, they are the 3rd owners.  The 1st owners sailed her in the Mediterranean for a year before selling her to the 2nd owners, who also sailed her in the Mediterranean before sailing her to the Sydney area.  Chris and Tracey purchased Dolphin Time back in August, but due to COVID-19 were unable to go to Pittwater and pick her up.

As luck would have it, Chris found out he was starting a new job shortly after Dolphin Time was purchased, and so as soon as the borders opened with NSW, they started looking for a delivery crew to bring her down to RMYS.  Pat Milwright, Chris Lim, Peter Brown, Graham Dicker, Andrew Corson and Martin Elmslie flew up to Sydney to start what they deemed was a “Character Building” trip down the coast, with a 2-night stay in Eden to avoid the worst of the weather front that just refused to go away. They arrived last Friday afternoon, no worse for wear and the warm thanks of the whole family!

Chris has been sailing for almost as long as he has been able to walk and raced Sabots, Lasers, 470s, Solings, as well as a variety of family-owned boats. Tracey and Xander, Chris’ son, have both taken dingy sailing classes at RMYS and with Yacht-Master and are all looking forward to getting to know Dolphin Time and cruising around Port Phillip Bay and hopefully further afield as they get confident with the new boat.
