Pot Parma and Chat diary date:  Friday 8th April.

Flags and Rules:  There is always something to learn and areas of improvement in sailing.  Not the least of which is the racing rules of sailing and the flags at the start of a race.

Lou Hutton is well known to many RMYS members.  She is a National Race Officer of 10 years standing who has officiated at major regattas such as the Sailing World Cup, SB 20, B14 and international Cadet World Championships, the Australian Youth Championship, and many others other National Championships.  Lou is also a member of the Victorian Race Officials Committee and a regular facilitator for Australian Sailing’s Club, State and National Race Officer accreditation seminars.

Lou will be walking us through the rules and flags we should know backwards at the start of a race and the RO’s thoughts when deciding a course and making decisions in difficult conditions.  Don’t miss this informative and educational session.  You’re sure to learn something!!  (The MSC have another surprise guest coming up to educate us on start line bias and tactics)

Squadron Sunday:  Sunday 27th March

It’s on again.  Register now.  An excellent opportunity for skippers to train up new crew, let the old crew run the race or bring your partner and children along for a family experience. It’s all about being on the water and having fun.

Do you have a topic you would like to talk about

We know we have an exciting and varied membership at RMYS.  There will be many of you who have some fascinating stories to tell. They don’t have to be sailing related.  But we would love to hear from you.  If you would like to share your story, we would love to listen to it.  Just let any MSC members know, and we will make it happen.

Volunteers wanted:  Recreational boating working group.

Justin Spangaro (0427 087 313) is looking for volunteers to help put together a recreational boating working group.  Anyone who would like to be involved is most welcome.  Contact Justin and make it happen!
