This members' information session will provide updates from the commodore, the treasurer, the club captain and training.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions.

Bert Ferris Cactus Cup 100th Anniversary - 5 November 2022 1030 hrs
|
|
|
The 100th anniversary of the Bert Ferris Cactus Cup is in less than a month.
|
The race starts at 1030 hrs. After the race, traditional mussels and Frankfurts are in the harbour room.
|
|
Anyone who is entered in the aggregate series is automatically entered. Entry into the individual race can be found below.

The couple married on 8 October at Sandbar with their boat Tenacity anchored in the distance.

No sailing experience necessary. The program aims to provide children with a fun and enjoyable experience whilst learning sailing skills through games and adventures on the water.

Crew networking event - Friday, 11 November 2022 1830 hrs

This is a photo of the crew of Matador at our last trivia night. It's lovely to be a part of a boat crew, go to social events at the club and make new friends on and off the water.

If you're a boat looking for crew or crew looking for a boat, send a note to Ann, and we'll start gathering interest for a crew networking event.

Novice Skippers Start Practice and Race Officer Training - Sunday, 23 October 2022 900 hrs
|
|
|
Have you wanted to get into racing but are unsure how to start?
|
|
Novice skipper start practice will be run alongside race officer training. No racing experience is necessary. We'll pair you with an experienced person. A short theory briefing will proceed on water practice.
|
|
|
|
|
After the briefing, why not give the Squadron Sunday race a go to put your new skills to the test?
|
|
|

This month, Squadron Sunday is having a "race within a race" to include a prize for the best "budding keelboat Skipper story or race achievement".
|
Any Members who have children/grandchildren 18 or under who are interested in sailing or want a go, please come and have a bit of fun. BYO BBQ at the club on return.
|
Let's try and get the kids involved..they may like it too. If you don't have a boat to sail on, let the office know, and we'll do our best to get a spot for you.

Boat weigh day at SYC - 19 November 2022
|
|
|
SYC will be running an additional Weigh Day on Saturday, 19 November. Please notify your members - Bookings are essential.
|
|
To assist with Club Handicappers, Rob has also provided the attached document. This was produced many years ago and is designed to avoid the situation where individual craft gets outside a reasonable range. Crafts that are not listed can be matched to a similar design with little thought.
