Craig and Julie Wilmott have brought Fame, 12.8m 1966 Brown Brothers timber trawler, down the coast from Brisbane.
In some respects Fame has returned to her true home since she spent most of her working life fishing and scalloping in Bass Strait and Port Philip Bay.

New arrival: Amity in B14
Amity is a 26 foot Cavalier and has recently come into the marina after a 14 hour journey from Hastings. We waited for quite a few months for delivery, as we needed the right weather window. In the end, it was decided to ‘just go’ when a big high settled over the country.

Geelong race recap: Seventeen knocked down
Photo by Beau Beza aboard Take Five
Seventeen started out on the race to Geelong with much trepidation... big winds for a little boat - but a sense of adventure won out!
Grant Seamer, our Training Manager, and Amanda Rogerson and two of RMYS's training members - Sanne Rodenstein and Alan Connolly made up the crew.

Find out why the photo is Seventeen crew aboard Take Five on their return from Geelong...

Play Like A Girl and Australian Sailing
On Wednesday, 30 November, keep an eye out for Georgia, our S80 training boat. Aboard will be our instructor Lily "Bunny" Nugent, and a group of women from various sporting backgrounds such as AFLW, Netball, BMX, Swimming, Cricket etc.
They will be shooting a PR campaign at RMYS with Australian Sailing to promote women in giving sailing a go!

Albert Park College training at RMYS
For the last eight weeks, year 7 & year 8 students from Albert Park College have been visiting RMYS for dinghy sailing classes. The students have been learning both theory and practical sailing skills.
Our instructors teach the students how to helm & crew on all points of sail. They’ve been learning tacking, gybing, racing rules, understanding weather & wind, rules of the water and, of course – capsizing!
They’ve even been sailing in challenging conditions, up to 15 knots! Go, kids!

We are excited to be hosting the Australian Sailing Tackers Inclusion Day this Sunday!
The little tackers (sailors 7-12 years old) will be sailing in the pond in the optis. As we progress into summer, we are pleased to see our little ones getting out on the water, enjoying everything wonderful about sailing in St Kilda!
To get your tacker involved, check out our website.
