On Monday morning (147/10/22) at approx., 2 am 5 persons gained access to the Marina and A and B Arms by scaling the Main Gate and Fences.
The cameras recorded them proceeding down A Arm, hoping on boats, and attempting to use the tenders (fortunately they were locked). It does not appear that any items were taken from any vessels. They did steal a bike behind B Gate and unmoored a couta boat on the Main Arm which subsequently drifted against the Pier. Fortunately, the wind was very light, and the vessel suffered no damage.
All owners are reminded to please keep their vessels locked, and to notify me if they ever notice anything amiss.
Below are some screenshots of the persons – If anyone sees them around RMYS, please let me know.

Unfortunately, the change room Lobby is again becoming a place for Members to dump sails.
The only sails to be put here are those on their way to or from a Sailmaker, and they must be tagged as such.
Any sail left in the lobby without a Sailmakers tag will be disposed of, and the disposal fee chargeable to the sail owner (if identifiable).

Mark Cunningham awarded Ian McKenzie Trophy
The memorial Ian McKenzie Trophy was awarded last weekend to Mark Cunnington, Skipper of the yacht Panacea, a Beneteau 40.7.
This trophy is awarded to less experienced sailors for their achievements in getting to offshore sailing. Mark has amplified this throughout the Beyond the Bay course and his final offshore passage with the Longitude Coastal Passage.
Ian was a huge contributor to ocean racing here in Victoria, introducing many sailors to sailing in Bass Strait and Tasmania onboard his yacht Supertramp R1080, with many sailors owing their start to offshore sailing to Ian encouragement. . Congratulations Mark Cunnington.
