Season Opening Day Lunch and Sail Past
|
RMYS invites all members, family and friends to come and celebrate the official opening of the summer season. It's a fun day to be enjoyed by many. Below are the main activities throughout the day. Bookings essential for the 2 course lunch in the Harbour Room. The menu and details have been outlined below.

1145hrs Smoking Ceremony
Boon Wurrung, the traditional people and custodians of this coastline, will conduct a smoking ceremony at the Squadron through one of their Elders at the front entrance, Catani Gardens
|
1200hrs Lunch ($47.50pp)
After the smoking ceremony those who have booked lunch will proceed to the Harbour Room for a 2 course lunch, followed by the presentation to the 2019 Club Member of the Year. Then unfurling of the burgee will commence to officially declare the season open.

1500hrs Sailpast
Afterwards the traditional sail past will commence on water. All boats welcome
Our sailing coordinator Colin Burgess will be contacting boat owners directly regarding the order of the sailpast.

1630hrs Live Music & Drinks
Then it's time to kick back in the Olympic Bar for drinks & live music.
Snack menu available throughout the evening.

Each year we identify a member who has made a significant contribution to RMYS to be awarded the JW Crosbie Trophy for Club Member of the Year, which will be presented at Opening Day on Saturday 5 October.
