Defibrillators in Marina

789
897
Two defibrillators have been installed in the Marina – One is behind C Gate, and the other is inside the Westernmost Toilet cubicle on F Row. There is also a defibrillator aboard William Paterson.

We will shortly be arranging a training course on their use, but anyone who has been trained or is comfortable with using them, they are available if needed.

The one behind C Gate is in a weatherproof case, and it has an anti-tamper seal attached to tell if the case has been opened (the case itself is supposed to remain attached to the Gate, if needed open the case and take the defib to the patient). The one in the Toilets is also in a case with an localised alarm if the case is opened. If any Member notices the tamper seal missing, or the defib missing, or any other issues, please let Damien or the Office know immediately.

Details on the training course will follow shortly.

Dogs in Marina

Dogs technically are not allowed on the Marina, however we understand that many Members do have dogs, and we like dogs, so they are tolerated as long as they do not cause any issues.

Unfortunately lately we have had numerous issues recently of owners not cleaning up after their dogs.

If you do take your dog onto the Marina, it must be on a lead the entire time (except when aboard your vessel), and must not be allowed to roam the Marina or Arms. Please keep an eye on your doggo, and ensure you clean up after him/her.

Thanks for your cooperation.

50th King Island and 50th Westcoaster (Melbourne to Hobart) Races

orcv

2022 will see the 50th King Island and 50th Westcoaster (Melbourne to Hobart) Races.

The quest is on to locate people, photos and stories that capture the many races over the past 49 years. We hope that you may be able to help us locate some items buried in cupboards or hanging proudly on walls of those who were part of these iconic races.

We’re looking for stories, photos, video, prizes, imagery of the coastline or events and even clothing pieces. If you were involved with these races over the past 50 years and can contribute to our quest, please get in contact with Tim & Delma at media@orcv.org.au.

Thank you.
