Commodore's Report - May 2019

Before I get to my summary of the key issues that were considered at the last GC meeting (provided below), I’d like to note what a fantastic event Presentation Night was, and to congratulate all the trophy winners and to especially thank all those involved in the organisation and running of the night. Well done to all!
We are in the final week before the Australian Women’s Keelboat Regatta and, as the Squadron’s premier regatta, I hope as many of our members as possible will come down and support the sailors, volunteers and staff over the long weekend. The AWKR Organising Committee have put in an amazing effort and have been rewarded by a record number of entries – now up to 40 boats!

RMYS Winter Cruise - 13th & 14th July

G'day all
It's a bit of time away, but what a great idea to put in your diaries!
QCYC are having a winter roast lunch on Sunday 14th July, and it seemed like a great excuse for us to have a party.
We propose to sail down to Queenscliff on the Saturday, and have a BBQ dinner at QCYC all together. On Sunday, enjoy their lunch, and either stay another night, head home, or overnight in Portarlington as we like.
It will, of course, be weather dependent. If it's all a bit filthy, some of us will drive down and back just for the lunch, but I would like to know how many of you may be interested, so I can let QCYC know of our invasion.
Look forward to seeing you.
Cheers
Pat
