Association Cup March 20 2022
Racing for the Association Cup is taking place this Sunday, 20 March 2022. It will consist of two divisions, both an AMS and ORC (International or endorsed Club) division, with two boats per Club forming a team in both of these divisions. Boats from each Club will race in each divisional category and fight it out to be the best performing boat and the best performing team in their division. A team’s score from both divisions will then be combined to determine the best performing club overall who will be crowned winners of the Association Cup!
In a series of up to four races with no exclusions, this will emphasise the need to sail as consistently as possible throughout the day to ensure the best chance of coming away with the win.

Good luck to our boats!

History of the Association Cup

The Association Cup dates back to 1907 when the Victorian Yacht Racing Association presented a cup to be competed for, by yachts on the Registers of Clubs in the Association. Today the Association Cup is the annual interclub yachting championship run on Port Phillip Bay between the major Victorian Keelboat Clubs. The victorious Club is awarded the "Association Cup" and holds it for 12 months and then must offer for competition at the end of the following sailing season.
