Shore Power in the Marina

It is a requirement for all vessels who connect to shore power to have IP66 rated (male) plugs that connect to the pedestal.
Non-compliant plugs cause damage, and create a significant fire hazard (as well requiring expensive repairs).
From tomorrow, any non-compliant lead will be immediately disconnected.  If the same lead is subseq....

Training Course update from RMSTA

Alongside the Squadron, the Royal Melbourne Sail Training Academy has been affected by Covid – 19. Critically Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron has suspended regular sailing and clubhouse operations. The Sailing Academy has also been closed with sail courses suspended. With no training income flowing, several our sailing instructors (including myself) have been supported by the Job Keeper program. The Squadron has also been generous and provided business support to the Academy through this time.
Interest in sailing remains. Whilst the phone and internet enquiries for learning to sail were few in late March, the last four weeks has seen sharp increase in the number of enquiries to the Sailing Academy about getting into sailing. The overwhelming desire from prospective sailors is to get outside and on the water. Personally, I think we may all be pleasantly surprised at the renewed interest people will show towards SAILING AS A LOCAL ADVENTURE SPORT, which may have been overlooked in recent years in favour of more extreme sports and focus on overseas travel....Read more

Remote Inspection Service

Remote-Boat-Inspection-Serices
I’m Nadine, a intermediate member to the club and a member of the No Man’s Land Team. I live very near to the club and have found myself out of work in recent times. Since access to the marina became a challenge for many I thought to offer my services for remote boat inspections.

As we are now looking to re-enter the water, you may also be looking at have routine maintenance or repairs done to your boat. My services can include obtaining quotes and managing the scheduling and logistics of these procedures.
I am also able to perform small maintenance task in-house such as servicing winches or checking rigging and sails.
