History and protocol – Addressing a Flag Officer

For many years it was considered courteous to address flag officers by their Flag rank. This could still occur at RMYS although not normal practice.
When using the Flag Officer position in writing, it should commence with a capital letter if referring to the person eg “Commodore will present the trophy”. This is the preferred use and is not preceded by “the”. The alternative is “the commodore will present the trophy”, referring to the position which means it is preceded by “the” and a lowercase “c” is used.

Remote Inspection Service

Remote-Boat-Inspection-Serices
I’m Nadine, a intermediate member to the club and a member of the No Man’s Land Team. I live very near to the club and have found myself out of work in recent times. Since access to the marina became a challenge for many I thought to offer my services for remote boat inspections.

As we are now looking to re-enter the water, you may also be looking at have routine maintenance or repairs done to your boat. My services can include obtaining quotes and managing the scheduling and logistics of these procedures.
I am also able to perform small maintenance task in-house such as servicing winches or checking rigging and sails.
