Farewell to our Venue Manager

Thanks to everyone who gave their farewells to Lesleigh on her last day.

Lesleigh was presented with an RMYS jacket as a memento of her time at the Squadron.

We wish Lesleigh the best of luck as she travels back to her home in New Zealand to be with her Mother.

The GenOA's are a committee made up of younger club members with a mission to engage with younger members and improve access to facilities to appeal to new members.
|
This Friday, July 2nd the GenOAs will be at the bar for their monthly committee meeting and drinks! This month's theme is OpShop Fancy Dress and all ages are welcome to come along, join us, get to know the committee and even dress up if you want! Members' draw will be happening at 7:30pm for extra encouragement for you to come along!

Lots of members will remember Christine Pfeiffer and her sailing days on Take Five. Congratulations to the Grandparents Jurgen and Barbara and the entire family on the arrival of their baby Lukas! A word from Christine below:

Lukas Geoffrey Pfeiffer King born on the 24th of June at 19:10. He weighed 3.63kg and we are all 3 doing well even if a little sleep deprived.

Maintenance of RMYS boats
|
Scott Allbutt has been maintaining the RMYS fleet from William Paterson to the RHIBs.
|
Scott has provided this service as a contractor with varying hours depending on work required, budget and Scott's availability. As Scott has advised he wishes to step back from this role we are looking for a replacement. We thank Scott for his great work.
|
The fleet to be maintained now includes the RMSTA boats and the time required is two - three days per week. Please contact me if you or someone you know is interested in filling this role.

The Recreational Boating Group is having its next event on the 11th of July.

This event will be a cruise of short stay and berthing options in Docklands (leaving Williamstown out of it due to recent storm damage, they are full up).

10:30 am Meet in the Olympic Bar for briefing and handouts 11:00 am Head down to the boats 11:30 am Depart RMYS 12:30 pm 1st Stop – Pier 35 – Stop tie up and brief chat about berthing and fueling. 1:00 pm Depart 1:30 pm 2nd Stop Yarra’s Edge Marina – Stop tie up and brief chat about berthing 2:00 pm Depart 2:15 pm Stop Melbourne city Marina – Outside Cargo Restaurant – Stop tie up and brief chat about berthing – Participants then have the option to stay and buy lunch at Cargo or return to RMYS at their leisure. 3:30 pm Depart for RMYS
