25 Year Lunch
|
|
This event is called the 25 year lunch however it is really about giving people who have connected with RMYS an opportunity to reacquaint old friendships, form new ones or just enjoy lunch in a magnificent environment.
|
Join in a celebration of the 21 foot restricted class yachts. The 21s were a strong class at St Kilda from the early 1930's until 1955, they were revived in 1960 however faded as a class in the mid 1960's. Greg Muir will speak about the restoration of “Tassie Too” and her return to Tasmania.

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER – “Livin' in the 70’s”

Date: Friday 27th August 2021 - 7.30pm

Where: RMYS – The Harbor Room .

A themed cocktail party in the Harbour Room at Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron featuring - slicker than slick, enormously well-played 70’s music by Yacht Rock Revival.
|
70’s Food, cleverly crafted and themed by Food & Desire, big hair, baubles, bangles and beads and flares… Yeah Baby! There will be Flares!
|
Including: a dance floor, an endless grazing table to help yourself and seated dining to share your 70’s stories with your loved ones and crew. Get your skates on!!

Yacht Rock Revival are an acclaimed Australian 70's Tribute Band playing all the hits that defined the Yacht Rock genre. If you haven't heard of this amazing group, check out their Promo Video Here.

Even through a snap lock down we can make it work!

Last Friday, June 4, the GenOA committee met for their first official (non party) committee meeting and smashed out some fantastic content. They not only have their mission and vision statement but have a full draft set of terms of reference ready for review. They're well under way with strategic plans in place to move forward with their many goals.
|
Next month's theme is OpShop Fancy dress and will be held in the Olympic Bar on Friday July 2, 2021.
