It was a busy weekend planned for training with multiply keelboat courses running both days and a new group of Adult dinghy students on Sunday, along with a Power Boat Handling course running both days

The weather gods were kind on Saturday, and all courses went ahead, Sunday however, it was a different matter. With the wind at the RMYS tower sitting at 25 knots and regularly gusting to 30 knots, it was not suitable for training, and we had to cancel the Keelboat and Dinghy course. New dates will need to be found, which as our calendar is petty full and instructors are thin on the ground will be a challenge.

Luckily the powerboat course was able to go ahead, and five more students now have their qualification
Bookings for February and March are nearly at capacity, and April dates will be listed soon.

We have a new Tackers 3 program scheduled for Sundays from the 6th March (run over three weekends), places are still available, so if you know anyone who has done Tackers 2, this would be a significant next step.

We have also about to release dates for our Youth Start Sailing program (Dinghy 1 & 2), A feeder program to help get the 11+ age group into our Junior Squad. This is a Sunday morning course that will run simultaneously as the Junior Squad Training, so they will see what they could be doing next. Dates will be online next week. No previous sailing is required.
