RMYS retains the cup and a “Wee Drap o’ Yarra”
By Clio Healy, Junior Sailing Coordinator at RMYS
The annual frostbite regatta was run On Sunday 23rd June over the weekend between RBYC and RMYS.
Two divisions were run our RMYS junior squad had a landslide win over the RBYC junior team in the 3 race series run by RO Andrew Gluth. It was excellent to see all the kids giving it their all and doing the club proud.
Not to be outdone our senior team certainly made the most of some challenging conditions. We’ll put it down to Charles coming down and training with the juniors the week prior. The senior division was a 2 race series and ended up in a draw between the challenging clubs.
Thanks to the excellent sailing of our Juniors although the combined scores on paper were a tie the victorious team was RMYS.
Thanks to all the volunteers who made this event possible and join us all again for the next Winter Solstice Frostbite Regatta next year.
