Well finally RMSTA was back on the water on Sunday. Instructor Greg Patten took our group that started way back in August for their second day. The weather was perfect and provided the perfect training conditions. The great news is that they all passed their Crew training and are excited about doing racing with the club. Now we will find them a sailing mentor so they can practice what they have been shown.

The successful team

We are hoping to run our first Dinghy course this Sunday, 6 newbies will take to the water in the pacers over the next 3 Sunday mornings enjoying all that the bay has to offer.

Upcoming dates: At this stage, the November and December calendars are looking full. A bay-wide shortage of instructors is not helping as they are already committed or want to go sailing themselves. We are constantly recruiting to bring more into our fold and if we can then we can look at extra dates.

So if you are an experienced keelboat sailor (or know someone who is) and likes to help people learn, then let Colin know as we are looking at running a Keelboat instructor course here at the club.

For the health and safety of RMSTA clients and club members, we will require all training participants to be double vaccinated and provide proof of such on check-in. Either digitally or hard copy of their vaccination certificate.

Training Membership: Remember, if you know someone keen to get into sailing, then tell them about our Training Membership. 12 months of Training, Sailing, Racing, and full Sailing Member benefits at the club.

For full course information and dates please visit our Training section of the website.

Instructors needed:
Been sailing for a while and would like to get into teaching? Give Colin a call to discuss how to become an Australian Sailing Instructor.

With all the courses we will be providing there is ample opportunity for anyone with an Australian Sailing Keelboat and/or Dinghy qualification to obtain work with RMSTA.
