Resumption of Sailing Update|27 October 2020
We are back on the water!!!!! Following the Premier’s announcement yesterday and clarification from Australian Sailing today, sailing may resume although initially with restrictions.
Sailing at RMYS will return this Saturday with a “shakedown race” , twilight racing will commence Wednesday 4 November 2020.
- While sailing, crews must be 1.5m apart for 90% of the time – sitting shoulder to shoulder on the rail or in the cockpit is NOT acceptable. Outside of key manoeuvres all crew must be able to social distance while sailing. It is recommended that crew numbers are reduced to allow adherence to this requirement.
- Masks must be worn at all time both on and off the water.
Colin will put the NORs on the website in the racing section.
As we are working on catering options given the significant restrictions, I will advise onshore activities and requirements by the end of this week.
There have been a couple of false starts before however this looks like the real thing. We look forward to seeing you.
