Club Members,
In these crazy times when sailing opportunities are limited, now is the perfect opportunity to develop and test your skills for longer races, deliveries, and cruises. At this Friday’s Parma Pot & Chat on May 22nd Dave Taylor (dtayls) will be chatting with Robert Neilson (Tyger) from the virtual sailing platform SailOnline (SOL).

Rob is the Marketing Manager at SOL and has constant dialogues with yacht clubs around the world so he has a lot to share with us about the people and clubs around the globe who use SailOnline and why they are using it.

SOL races in real locations all around the world using real winds (from the GFS prediction models) and real boat sailing characteristics (via their ‘polars’). SOL is not an arcade-style platform.

Stephen Hopkins and Greg Patten have also been using the platform for a while now along with a few others from RMYS. Stephen and Greg will join us after Rob to tell us briefly about their recent experiences with SOL.

Rob is originally a Queenslander but escaped to Hawthorn many years before the current lock-down. He has also been threatening to join RMYS so we all need to be there to support him on Friday night and encourage him to sign up.
