An apology: In last week’s news I said that Grand Cru 2 was the quickest boat in the Liston Cup. This was an error. The quickest boat was in fact ARCADIA with an elapsed time of 02:34:36. Congratulations and sorry for the mistake.

Upcoming Volunteer help Required: When the winter spinnaker races are held, RMYS provides William Paterson as the finish boat for DIV 1 (Our fleet) this require an RO, driver and scribe. It’s an afternoon start, be at club for 1300 and usually off the water at 1630. An after race snack and drink is provided. It’s a great way to be introduced to on water racing and for the newer RO’s to get some experience. Please check the calendar for race dates. Please let me know if you can help. firstname.lastname@example.org
Wednesday Start Sheets: Remember a combined race start sheet is available online under the noticeboard for the RMYS Winter season. Please remember this is NOT finalized until 10:30 am on the day of the race so please check before leaving the dock. It can be accessed via the MemberPoint app under Racing or via rmys.com.au

Juniors Quest Fleet
The squad was back on the water this week under the guidance of Patrick Walby (Coordinator) and Graeme Savage (Parent group Chair) they do a fantastic job with the fleet ensuring there is a good turn out of both kids and parents. If you are ever at the club on a sunday morning say hi and even lend a hand.
Below is Graeme’s weekly report:
Last Sunday squad training started with some excitement with the issue of RMYS Junior Racing support apparel to the parent committee. They look fantastic. Do you think I could have taken a photo………well I could have but didn’t…doh. Make sure we all wear them next week for a photo shoot.
Thank You to RMYS and Colin for organising this. We look like a professional outfit!!……..
Warm weather and good NW breeze made for flat water and fun sailing.
We had three quests out on the water. The highlight of the morning seeing Scarlet capsize and Alex remaining dry whilst Carli went in the drink. The smile on Alex’s face in the photo pretty much sums it up…..priceless. I’d be careful though Alex. If you’ve seen Carli play netball there’s a bit of white line going on so…..…..I wouldn’t mess with her.
Volunteers: help is still needed.
Check out our Volunteer page to see what its all about… the club needs you.
