Keel/Rudder Inspections: A reminder to all boat owners. As per Australian Sailing requirements should you have a grounding, it is a requirement that you have a keel/rudder inspection undertaken. Please take a moment to read Appendix C to Part 1 of the Special Regulations 2021 in regards to the Inspection Procedure. Also, a keel inspection report form is available on the RMYS website which must be completed and a copy sent to Colin firstname.lastname@example.org.
Incident Reporting: If you are involved in any incident during any RMYS race (hosted by RMYS or another club) you are required to submit an Incident Report Form within 24hrs of the incident. Forms need to be emailed to Colin at email@example.com.
Wednesday Start Sheets: A combined race start sheet is now located in the online noticeboard for the RMYS Winter season. Please remember this is NOT finalized until 10:30 am on the day of the race so please check before leaving the dock. It can be accessed via the MemberPoint app under Racing or via rmys.com.au
Tower Communications: Please remember that after the warning signal the tower team is busy so any communications should only be for emergencies or announcing retiring from the race.
New Wednesday Prize: With only having 3 boats in the IRC division on Wednesday afternoon we will no longer be awarding prizes for that division, results will still be posted. Instead we will be awarding prizes for the top 3 best elapsed time in the AMS/IRC spinnaker fleet. We kindly thank James Lynch, Doctors of Northcote, for their continued sponsorship of this fleet.
Boat Duty Roster: This is online so please take a look and know when you are required to help out. You will need to provide a crew member to help with race management in the tower or on the water. If you can’t cover your date it’s up to you to find someone who can, this may mean swapping a date with another boat. Remember racing can only go ahead with the help from members.

Sail Pass: Guests of our members are always welcome but as with every sport there are costs involved in regular usage of a facility and actively participating. As such, to take part in a race, a Sail Pass will need to be purchased. The passes are for the benefit and safety of all sailors, so that we have emergency contact details for everyone out on the water. Also, all those sailing must be added to your crew sign on. Remember all of this is done via the MemberPoint app and full details of how to use the app are on our website.
Upcoming RMYS Racing:
Wednesday 21st: Mid Week Mariners Race 5
Saturday 24th: Liston Cup 1030
ANZAC Day Pursuit 1200
The week that was:
Mid Week Mariners Series I: Wednesday 14th April
Due to poor weather racing was abandoned.
Saturday: 17th Services Shield. A very light wind day meant that the racing was not great. We were represented by Arcadia and Take Five – AMS, Salamander II and Antagonist – IRC. Unfortunately, some of the team were unable to finish the race but over all we were well represented and we thank the skippers and crew for getting involved.
Sunday: Squadron Sunday. Even with very light winds we managed to get a race in and almost all the boats made it round the course.

Back on the water the wind did not play ball, but it still allowed the team to get some time on the water and a snag after. Below are some great pictures from Graeme Savage.
Volunteers: help is still needed.
