Join us for an inspirational night with world record holder Lisa Blair. Lisa completed her incredible circumnavigation of Antarctica on her boat Climate Action Now.

Lisa is no stranger to world records. She held the previous record of circumnavigating Antarctica with one stop taken back in 2017. The stop was due to her mast breaking in a storm that had her stop in South Africa for repairs before Lisa bravely continued. She completed her previous circumnavigation in 103 Days, 7 Hours, 21 Minutes, and 38 Seconds (Elapsed time not including repairs to the mast).

Upon returning to Australia, she broke the record for the fastest mono-hull to sail solo, non-stop and unassisted around Australia in 58 Days. She’s the first woman to have done that. She’s also the first to do that on a 100% eco-powered vessel.

Both of these recorders were under Lisa’s belt before made her second attempt at circumnavigating Antarctica single handedly. She left Australian waters in February to go it again, this time without stopping. In late May, Lisa and Climate Change Now returned to their departure port of Albany, holding the world record at 92 Days, 18 Hours, 21 Minutes, and 20 Seconds.

Now, Lisa is coming to the Squadron. She aims to inspire individuals to take positive climate action. Along the way, we’re sure she’ll inspire us to make incredible life changes and help the world for the better.

Lisa’s talk will be on Thursday, 14 July 2022 at 1900 hrs. in the Harbour Room. Tickets are $20 donations towards Climate Action Now. Kids under 18 are free. Book your tickets here.
