ORCc Handicaps:

Skippers are advised that an ORCc handicap needs to be endorsed to be used on the bay. An endorsed certificate can be issued if

  1. The boat holds an ORCi certificate
  2. The boat has a current AMS and or IRC certificate
  3. The boat is a production boat and a sister ship is already in the system
  4. A boat is measured

Moving forward RMYS boats with ORCc will need to ensure they are an endorsed certificate. Contact the office for more details

Safety Audits:

Although Australian Sailing have not yet set a date for when this will become compulsory for clubs to undertake audits, RMYS is going to start implementing this as of 1 May. This will be a long process to get through all the boats with a limited number of auditors within the club. As a a boat owner you can help by getting yourself ready for your audit. When the auditor comes they will want to see all of the equipment out and ready for inspection or at a minimum you must be able to put you hands on the items quickly (1 – 2 mins) . You will still need to complete the Audit form as usual prior to the auditors getting to the boat, we advise that you do this and use it as a practice run. Be warned the auditor will not proceed with the audit if the boat is not ready. More information about how to book your audit will follow .
