GM Update – Clubhouse and hospitality facilities

Clubhouse and hospitality facilities.

During Winter the Mid Week Mariners would normally be enjoying lunch in the Members Bar prior to sailing and then a fun time in bar afterwards.  Friday night dinner would also be available.  The easing of some restrictions on 1 June has enable cafes and restaurants to operate however with strict requirements:

  1. Maximum of 20 per room
  2. Maximum 1 person per 4 square metres
  3. Maximum six per table
  4. 1.5 metres between tables
  5. Table service only
  6. Alcohol served only with “substantial” meals
  7. Bookings are required
  8. Name and contact details of every person must be available

On 22 June the 20 increases to 50 and late July to 100 however the four sqm and 1.5m requirements will always limit the members bar to around 25 and the Harbour room to approximately 65.

Providing a lunch service under existing conditions is not feasible and operationally would be challenging.  An increase in numbers may make it practical however it would be on a pre-booked, set menu basis.

We continue to treat the health and welfare of members and staff as a priority and that will drive all decisions relating to access to the clubhouse.

There is no indication from the Victorian Government or Australian Sailing regarding the return of organised sailing.  We will let you know as soon as information is available.

Please do not hesitate to contact  me if you have any questions, wee all look forward to seeing you one day!
