Guided history & club tours were run throughout the course of weekend for Open House Melbourne.
Special thanks to Julie Cutler for initial liaison with Open House and Pauline Callanan, Marg Ludowyk, Lea Ram, Dierdre Wilson; George Wilson, Nick Stone, Ralph May, David Hodge, Roger Hatten, Leo Hogan, Mark Davies, & Anthony Callanan for organisation of displays and conducting guided tours.
Every year Open House Melbourne co-ordinates public access to usually closed spaces and buildings.
This year our submission to become part of 200 sites involved in this scheme was successful.
So 10:00 to 16:00 on Saturday and Sunday next we will be open to the public.
Members will be conducting guided tours through the building including the front entrance, main stair way, Harbour Room, Rooftop, rear stairs, Members Olympic lounge, Committee Room, and Library.
Guests will be invited to stay after their tour including listening to race announcements and Squadron Sunday music.
Members are invited to participate in this event by joining a group at the front door or just checking out material displayed.
While there is no indication of numbers, your assistance in making everyone welcome is appreciated.
Should there be any questions, please contact Anthony Callahan or Peter Chapman.
