Bert Ferris

Bert’s ashes will be scattered from William Paterson on Wednesday afternoon 12/02/2020.  WP will leave the lower landing at 1500 and will maintain position at the outer end of the start line to scatter the ashes.

Members in boats are most welcome to escort WP.

Quarterly Member’s Meeting – 9.30AM

Saturday 1st February

9.30am start

The start time of the meeting has been brought forward half hour to allow the earlier start time for the Squadron Trophy and Plate Long Distance Series race on the same day.

This is an informal meeting and an excellent opportunity to discuss the activities of the Squadron. If you have questions about a specific topic it may be useful to email Commodore Charles Meredith to ensure he is properly prepared to respond. commodore@rmys.com.au 

FOS Start line party update – Lots happening at RMYS on Friday and Saturday prior to the FOS passage race.


Members Bar open at 3pm

Complimentary sausage in bread in the yard with live music from 5.30pm 

A la carte dinner from 6.30pm  in the members bar  

6 x Grilled porterhouse, bearnaise, chargrilled broccolini, crinkle cut chips  $32
6 x Amba grilled chicken breast, chickpea hummus, coriander dressing, pickled heirloom vegetables   $24
3 x Ricotta gnocchi, parmesan cream, salsa Verde, pangratatto   $20

Bacon and egg rolls from 6.30am $5

Members bar open at 7am for takeaway drinks, coffee, rolls and ice.

S80 Victorian Championships 2020

   RMYS was lucky enough to be invited to host the S80 Victorian Championship for 2020. This annual event is hosted a different club each year and is always well represented by clubs around the bay, this year there were 16 entries With RMYS, HBYC and RYCV making up most of the field. 

Weekend receptionist

Saturday receptionist Katrina Dyer has resigned to take up a full time role.  Jan Hurst will now be in the office Tuesday to Saturday which will provide continuity through to the weekend.   Sharon Marks continues as Sunday and Monday receptionist.   Matt Solly

Pier Rd Parking

Over the New Years Eve period parking was restricted at the southern end of Pier Rd which resulted in some members receiving parking tickets.  These restrictions were requested by Vic Police and implemented by CoPP which acknowledges the poor communication.

If you have been booked please send the ticket(s) to me and I will endeavour to have them cancelled.
