Please remember that this needs an annual renewal and expired 30th June. A reminder was supposed to be sent out but you may not have received it. Please use the below link for Revalidation. It is important to note that ratings have been adjusted since last sailing season so mixing out of date ratings with current ratings can happen.

E. In nautical terms what is meant by “dipping the eye”?
Answer: A term used for placing the eye of one mooring line through that of another.

F: When tying up alongside a jetty/dock the recommended practice is to have loops (bowlines) on the dock and XOX on the boat. What are the two primary reasons for this?

Answers: 1: More boats can use the same cleat
2: If you need to depart quickly there is no need for crew to get off the boat (yes you need to leave your lines behind)
