RMYS Golf Day recap

2019 RMYS GOLF DAY

Once again we had perfect conditions for the 14th annual RMYS golf day.

Our numbers aren’t as good as in the early years but showed that you don’t have to be a gun golfer to play in this ambrose day.  Paul Swan bought along a friend Peter who hadn’t played for many, many years and using his ancient clubs who proved to be a valuable player on his team.

The names are drawn out of a hat and luck of the draw had Damian and Heath in the same team again.  They were in the winning team last year and won again this year, along with team members Rick Matthews and John McGill.  Might have to separate them next year!

Our Ops Manager is not only good around boats but he’s an ace on the golf course, winning both the longest drive and closest to the pin as well as being in the winning team.

Only two points behind the winners came the team of Pete Woollard, Sabina Rosser, Harry Leggett and Peter Brash.  In third place was team Mick Culhane, Janine Walker, Paul Swan and JD Muttman.

JD took out nearest to the pin for the men and Sabina for the women.  Nearest to the pin are played on par 3’s and with only two females, neither could get onto any of the greens so we laid a mark a hundred yards out from the 18th and Sabina finally got onto the green.

The longest drive winners were Pete Woollard and Janine Walker.

Many thanks go to Trouble Shooters for providing prizes and thanks to Brenda for doing the bbq.
