Thanks to the 40-odd members (not “Odd Members”, just about 40 of them …) for turning up on Sunday morning and getting stuck into a range of jobs to improve the Club and facilities.
Tasks completed cleaning the building, yard, and surrounds; cleaning and anti-fouling “Uan Me” and “Kermit”; washing “Albatross” and “Killara”; repainting safety lines; de-weeding marina pens; sorting out the mezzanine storage area - and other assorted tasks.
Huge thanks to you all!
One of the tasks undertaken was de-weeding of the RMYS race & work boat pens. This involved "slicing" off the weed growing on the concrete pontoons using long-handled shovels. This weed is apparently beginning to spawn, and removing it will help to reduce the fouling of boats, particularly around the waterline.
The two long-handled shovels are available to any berth holders interested in clearing weed from their own pens. Please see Damien if you would like to borrow them (each berth would take about 15 minutes to clear).
