During the gale of 30 June (with wind gusts up to 42 knots) a number of boats experienced issues with partial unfurls of furling headsails, canopies flogging, etc.
Joel and Kuki attended to a number of vessels to re-secure covers and lines, and we will continue to pay close attention to all vessels in periods of high winds, but boat owners are reminded to ensure your vessel is properly secured and all covers are well tied down at all times. Particular attention should be paid to furling headsails to ensure they cannot un-furl (it's not recommended to rely solely on cam cleats or clutches).
You may also want to consider changing the orientation of your berthing during winter.
