The 87th Stonehaven Cup is back at RMYS for the first time since 2012, from 3-10 January 2016. We already have 15 boats entered in this prestigious regatta, with more expected soon. This is a great opportunity for the RMYS entrants to sail in their local waters and to enjoy home comforts in the evenings. For those who are not familiar with the Stonehaven Cup, the regatta is the national championship for the 12ft Cadet Dinghy class. It is held each year and shared between Victoria, Tasmania, and South Australia, in such challenging conditions as the large swells off King Island in Tasmania and of course the ever-changing Port Phillip. |
RMYS is looking for more race management support for the regatta. If you can volunteer on any of the days from 3-10 January, please let Liz know by email at racing@rmys.com.au or sign up on the Volunteer Roster.
There are also a couple of spots available for crew on Cadets that have entered the regatta. If you know someone who is 18 or under and who might be interested in having a lot of fun sailing in a national championship, please contact Lawrence Dean by email at lawrence.dean@aanet.com.au.
Otherwise, we'd love to see you at the club, to watch our juniors take on the other skilled 12ft Cadet sailors of Australia.
The Notice of Race is now available on the Stonehaven Cup page of the RMYS website, with Sailing Instructions to come soon.
