We received a message from John Dikkenberg, Captain of the HMB Endeavour, which is the replica of James Cook's famous ship.
They provide opportunities for school children around Australia to relive 18th century history and while voyaging the coast, encourage the public to join them. Known as voyage crew or supernumeraries, these people learn to sail an authentic 18th century square rigged ship. They also learn a great deal about Cook and the art of offshore passage making.
John says, "For me, keeping the ship at sea is vital for her survival while for those who choose to join us, it is a truly extraordinary experience."
