The Ruth Nangle (to Safety Beach) had 13 entrants for the spinnaker pursuit race. Laafin took off first and Next Step rounded out the fleet. The wind was variable and light. The fleet bunched up, spread out and the lead changed a number of times, but ultimately Next Step took the prize. Check out the results here.
Safety Beach Sailing Club were sensational hosts (as always) and provided us with a fantastic BBQ Buffet and dessert, before everyone headed back to Martha Cove Marina for the after party (some going as late as 5am).
The Jeanette Turmbull (to St Kilda), started on time, with 8 boats competing. A wind shift during the start sequence biased the line. There were lots of sore heads and a relatively slow start for most. The journey home consisted of variable breeze (some boats having to put in reefs and some that didn't see more than 10 knots), thunderstorms and torrential rain.
Boots and Take Five prevailed on PHS and AMS respectively. You can view the full results here.
We look forward to more boats coming down next year for the racing, hospitality and partying.
