To ensure we maximise the effectiveness and efficiency of the total RMYS team, various tasks have been reallocated. As a result of this review, Louise Hutton will leave RMYS on October 31 or earlier by agreement. Lou has made a significant contribution to the Squadron over nearly three years and is an extremely capable person. Her departure is not a reflection on her performance or the club's financial position, however with the introduction of enhanced processes, technology and discipline we will function properly with a reduced staff. The service to members will remain, indeed our objective is for it to increase.
General Manager – Matt Solly
Operations and Marina Manager – Damien Ryan. Damien will assume all operational and administration activities relating to the marina and swing moorings, some of which were carried out by Jan Hurst.
Yard and Slipping Coordinator – Joel Carnes. Joel’s focus is the yard activity and its service to members. He will be the contact for all yard and slipping requirements. Joel is also responsible for all club boat maintenance.
Sailing Coordinator – Liz Haines. Little change, organises all sailing activities. Operates TopYacht racing software. Works Tuesday to Saturday.
Member Services – Jan Hurst. Will sit at our new reception, and will be the first to answer the phone and greet members and other visitors. Maintains membership database and provides extensive office and admin support.
Accounting Coordinator – Phillippa Frazer. Commenced mid-July in a new role combining bookkeeper and contract accountant. Takes the accounting process from data entry to trial balance plus carries out various finance-related tasks.
We have commenced recruiting a casual person to sit at reception every Saturday and Sunday. This new role will properly respond to membership and marina enquiries, assist members in many ways including processing payments and selling merchandise, direct visitors as required and generally provide a friendly and welcoming presence on our busiest day(s). I am happy to receive applications from anyone you know who may be suitable.
The transition to this structure will take some time and we are working towards being settled in our new office with our new structure by the end of September.
