Wednesday 4 March
A beautiful 6 knot SSE breeze greeted the fleet this week, with a SW change just before 7pm making it more interesting.
Walu took out the Troubleshooters LA Nangle Pursuit, and Portofino won the AdventureWare Terry Hill AMS prize.
In the Horizon Sails Spinnaker race, Silhouette went home with the AMS glassware, Matador continued their excellent form on IRC, and Seaya was the recipient of the beer and cooler bag for winning PHS.
Best start was Spirit V on 1 second, and the Banks Group Elapsed Time Award went to Revenge for finishing 20th, in a time of 1:08:35. It seems that no one did anything noticeably silly enough to win the Goat of the Day, so it was awarded to Anthony Callanan on Panda for finishing his first race ever (now that the boat is for sale)!
Troubleshooters LA Nangle: Rock n Roll - Stephen Barker
AdventureWare Terry Hill AMS: Portofino - Stuart Tait
Horizon Sails Spinnaker Series II:
- PHS: Remedy - Russell Hibbert
- AMS: Silhouette - Nathan Scanlon
- IRC: Matador - Murray McCutcheon/Michael Morse
Congratulations to all our winners, and thanks to Ian and Selwyn as always for running this series. Full results here.
Saturday 7 March
A fleet of only 6 boats contested the Moomba Cup at RMYS on Saturday, as many of our boats were cruising to Flinders. The course was shortened but all managed to finish.
Mood Indigo was successful on PHS and IRC, and Weekend Option took out AMS.
