It’s been another windy week on Port Phillip and it doesn’t seem to show signs of easing.
The Troubleshooters LA Nangle, AdventureWare Terry Hill AMS and Horizon Sails Spinnaker Series II were held in 22-33 knot south-easterlies. There was a strong wind warning current.
Unfortunately, Koa-Atea missed the start cut off time by just 22 seconds, but was awarded Mountain Goat of the Day for their troubles.
Xit Strategy took out the LA Nangle, Portofino claimed AMS and Ellipse took out best start on 6 seconds.
The Banks Group Elapsed Time Award should have gone to 15th place, but due to lack of starters this was awarded to the boat who spent the most time on the course. On 1:21:55 that was Myaura.
Gusty 17-20 knots south westerlies got the fleet around the laid course for the International Cup on Saturday.
Salamander III took out the hat trick in Division 1. Portofino collected both AMS and PHS in Division 2 (there were not enough starters for IRC). Unfortunately, only 2 boats started in Division 3, which meant that they did not record a score.
The Classic Yacht Association raced out of RMYS on Sunday for the first time in years. 17 yachts took to the water in 16 knot southwesterlies. Sirocco, Blue Jacket and Avian took out the top 3 spots. See the separate news article for a full report.
