Wednesday 27 January
Race 3 of the Troubleshooters LA Nangle, Horizon Sails Twilight and the KISS Printing Terry Hill AMS Twilight series was abandoned due to the forecast severe thunderstorms.
Saturday’s race was the International Cup, originally donated by Melbourne Steamshipping Company Limited in November 1933. The deed of gift states that the course must be a windward and return course with a gate. The latter requirement caught out five starters of the 22, who sailed the wrong course, missed the gate and subsequently retired.

Sunday 31 January
RMYS hosted the Classic Yachts for Race 6 of their series on Sunday. There was a good fleet of 19 on the start line, with some close racing and one or two unlucky shifts for some of the competitors on the last leg. Peter Costolloe from the Classic Yacht Association has provided another fantastic report on the race, including photos from the RMYS tower.
Please click here to read it.
Thanks to RO Alistair Hart, Terry Parker, and Peter Costolloe for running the tower.
Those cruising to Docklands this weekend for the Progressive Dinner, please let Pat Milwright know your POB if you haven’t done so already so that he can allocate dinner courses. Email firstname.lastname@example.org

In February 2017 the RMYS Cruising group are planning a month’s cruise south to beautiful Tassie.
Three boats have already booked in for this great cruise. It’s a great opportunity to cruise safely in company across Bass Strait to Hobart with experienced fellow sailors to assist with passage and navigation planning.
The group expect to take one week to cruise to Hobart, then spend two weeks exploring the d’Entrecasteaux Channel and surrounds, and then take a week to cruise back to Melbourne. If you would like to register your interest, or have any queries please contact Pat Milwright on email@example.com
