AMS – 1st Gienah / 2nd Tigris / Ellipse (Jack Setton/Albert Kaminsky)
IRC – 1st Gienah / 2nd Ellipse / 3rd Matador
Thanks to the volunteers who ran the racing on Saturday – Amanda Wakeham, Terry Parker and Andrew Fambiatos.
A feast of mussels and frankfurts was enjoyed by all in the bar after racing.
School Team Racing
Also on Saturday, RMYS ran the final Term 4 round of the John Middleton Trophy for School Team Racing, on behalf of Yachting Victoria. 16 races were conducted in the light breeze, with Scotch College taking out the round and the series. Thanks to Michael Morse and Dee Mason for helping with the racing and the changeover of students.
Various RMYS members competed in the Adams 10 Waitangi Cup at Safety Beach Sailing Club over the weekend. Normally there are 8 boats involved, 4 crews from NSW and 4 from VIC competing. The boats are drawn out of a hat, with owners not able to draw their own boat. It was a fantastic weekend of comradery as most of both states' crews now know each other well.
Congratulations to the Victorian team who won the event on a countback - with 2 firsts and a second, versus 1 first and 2 second places.
The results can be found here.
Race 4 of the Summer Series for Classics was conducted for the first time in 18 years by SYC. It was a long day on the water for many boats in the light breeze, but most managed to record a result in the pursuit race. Congratulations to the crews of Boambillee, Warringa, Snow Goose, and Akuna for getting all the way to SYC and back!
