Sunday 26 October
Junior racing is now in full swing with the Cadets racing in the mornings and the Optis, Bics and Minnows out in the afternoon.
This week the Cadets did a “Le Mans” start, which involved one crew member starting on the beach and running to the boat before commencing sailing. The race went from the inner harbour to D and then A before coming back into the harbour. Racing the previous Sunday was cancelled due to strong winds.
The Optis, Bics and Minnows have a growing fleet with nine boats now competing (5 Optimists, 3 O’pen Bics and 1 Minnow). Four races were held on Sunday with mixed results.
