Last Sunday was the last day of our power boat handling course for May. Marc Tracy and Leigh Brennan-Smith were our instructors, with eight students in attendance. Two nights of theory sessions covered coastal navigation, buoyage, marine rules and emergency procedures. One full day of practical training using the club's rescue boats took the students through mooring, docking, anchoring, MOB procedures and high speed handling. |
“It was great to get out on the water and actually build your skills doing things again and again. The instructors were really good!” – Anthony Callanan, Membership Committee Member
Next dates for Power Boat handling course: Thursday evenings 21 and 28 July (theory) 1800-2200, and Sunday 31 July (Practical on-water) 0900-1800.
