The Royal Melbourne Sail Training Academy will be conducting a Yachting Australia Powerboat Handlers course at RMYS on the 24 and 25 October 2015. Undertake training with nationally accredited Powerboat instructors to gain both the theory and onwater practical skills to safely operate a powerboat in enclosed waters. The Powerboat Handlers course is also the minimum qualification required to operate yacht club support craft (such as RMYS) and is further recognised as being an industry standard for boating courses below commercial qualifications. The course is also recognised by Transport Safety Victoria, allowing the successful student who passes a short theory test to apply for their Victorian Recreational Boat Operators Licence without further testing (Vic. Govt. fees do apply).
Dates: Saturday & Sunday 24 & 25 October, 8.30 am to 6 pm. Sunday practical on-water session. Course includes: Yachting Australia Powerboat textbook, logbook and nationally recognised course certificate Gaining your Victorian Boat Licence: Passing this course will allow the student to apply for their Victorian Recreational Boat Operators Licence without further testing (Victorian Government fees do apply).
