On the northernmost tip of the Bellarine Peninsula, Portarlington is only 44km from St Kilda as the seagull flies across Port Phillip. Nine boats and 35 people arrived in beautiful sunshine at Portarlington Pier around 1pm. After rafting up and enjoying a well-deserved refreshment, crews quickly rustled up various dishes of mussels purchased from the mussel van stationed at the base of the pier. Todd’s dish, consisting of a tomato-based sauce and other secret ingredients, was served with fresh crusty bread and a decent glass of red. Delicious!!! It was sampled approvingly by the skipper from next door (guess who)?
The next cruising event is the Progressive Dinner @ Docklands on 4 July.
We’d expect to see the star spangled banner, cowboy boots, Stetsons & American cuisine such as spare ribs & T-bones to be on the menu.
