Before RMYS I was the Catering Operations Manager for The State Library of Victoria. I felt and worked as if I was a part of the State Library organisation and team as much as food&desire. When we finished the contract there, Shaun my boss at food&desire, thought that it would be fun for me to go to RMYS. So here I am.
My aim at RMYS is work in partnership with committee, members and everybody in the office to deliver good food, friendly, attentive service and great Royal Melbourne Yacht Club and Harbour Room events. I have worked in Clubs before and I know the pride and sense of ownership that is part of the culture of a successful club. I aim to actively participate in that culture.
I can assure you that I have been talking and listening to members and I understand and appreciate that foodanddesire has a reputation for inconsistent food and service. It has appeared that events in the Harbour Room have precedence over the Club.
I do not and will not prioritise Harbour Room over RMYS. They go together.
I am looking forward to meeting more members. I am in the bar every Wednesday and in the building Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I will be popping into the bar even when there are events in the Harbour Room to make sure that everything is going well.
You can also message me through the Red Book app. I look forward to meeting you all.
Ps: I have taken off the Dim Sum because you all laughed at my kiwi accent. (just joking –no dim sum because we are changing the bar menu)
